The new 95k thoroughfare in the shire of Gluggon

Once upon a time, a very long time ago….like last year….in the important little shire of Gluggon, in the big area in the east known as Anetholes, the council elders decided that they needed to do something to fix the horrendous state of their thoroughfares..but they didn’t have very much coinage to do it with……so they sat around the big table in the big building in the middle of the big town to try and solve the problem.

Big Geoff reckoned that his brother in law, Bob (the builder) could do it…”Yes, he can!!!”, but none of the others was convinced….Mr Taylor was all for borrowing the crew who fixed the thoroughfares in the neighbouring shire of Lentigow and paying them room and board for the job, Big Geoff’s cousin Maryanne reckoned they should send an epistle to the governor lamenting their problem…….and so it went…….and went…..and went…..and none of them could agree with any of the ideas…and the problem kept coming back to the lack of coinage……until, Little Geoff (the son of Big Geoff) suddenly shouted..”I have it!!!!!”……the room was filled with apprehension ……..

“so”, said little Geoff nervously…..”all we have to do is to make everyone travel slower, then they won’t feel the horrible bumps and holes in our thoroughfares……” Everyone in the room guffawed! “And how are we going to make them do that? said Mr Taylor…..”that’s simple!” Said Little Geoff with a huge grin…”we’ll go to the big department store at EBay and we’ll buy some of the cheapest speed signs we can get and we’ll make everyone travel slower so they won’t feel the bumps and the dips and the holes in our thoroughfares”…and so the 95k bend thoroughfare as it became known, was born………

And today we have travelled it and we can attest to the fact that every bend on the road is sporting a shiny new “95kmh” sign!!!!!

I've finally got the chance to share my thoughts with the world.
